I provided the information to the calculator at www.cleanenergyfuture.gov.au to show that I am a single person of pension age on an income of $40,000 per year. The Estimator results show that I am eligible for an annual payment of $840 per year of which $338 is a cash payment, and $502 is through tax changes. However, because I am retired, and on a State Government superannuation pension, I pay no tax. Do I get only the $338? I have no idea what is going on. My preferred option is no carbon tax, and no Government hand outs.

I am getting a State Government superannuation pension of $40,560 per year, but I do not know how much compensation I will be getting. By the way, what is the point in collecting the tax, and then giving it back? Perhaps I will get enough to by an extra ham sandwich.

As a business what price increase do I stick on my goods to cover Carbon Tax. Is it going to be like GST and I have to add it into my invoices. Will I need to pass it to the government quarterly. Is there information on this coming soon as July 1st is looming fast. Why did the government just turn around and jack up GST - didnt the goverment bring in GST to reduce various taxes and to make life simplier..

Found a Carbon Tax Calculator for businesses - why hasn't government bothered to look into developing this? I'm sure all businesses are just as eager to understand what their impact is likely to be given there is minimal compensation to them? It has that it's only an estimate, but it's nice to be able to have a slight idea of the impact.

Ha can't wait to spend my $3. What a joke. Did you notice the asterisk on the tax saving. It does not factor in the flood levy. I am already way behind before the price rises start and even worse if they remove the health care rebate. Help!!
